Products and track record backed by our technical capabilities

The Nissin Electric Group has concentrated its efforts on manufacturing, embracing the "Venture Spirit" fostered since our founding and proactively learning from different foreign cultures and techniques. Many customers in Japan and abroad use its unique products, which embody technological essence and are among those with a leading market share.

Gas Insulated Switchgear The auto-expansion (AE) technology, which is our proprietary arc-suppression method, has been applied to the ultra-compact gas insulated switchgear (XAE) to reduce the size of circuit breakers to an astonishing level. The switchgear has been chosen in many markets, securing its position in the top market share group in Japan.
Voltage Transformer We are the sole manufacturer of capacitor voltage transformers (CVTs) in Japan. We develop and provide products, getting our proprietary capacitor technology, insulating oil sealing technology (fully sealed type adopting an oil level regulator [feeding tank: FT]), and gas-insulating technology into full use.
We are also in the top market share group on a global basis, having developed and supplied, for example, a gas-insulated voltage transformer for the world's highest 1,100 kV power transmission in China.
Power Capacitor Using our proprietary capacitor technology and insulating oil sealing technology (fully sealed type adopting an oil-level regulator [feeding tank: FT]), we developed earthquake-resistant, high-reliability power capacitors collectively enclosed in a large-capacity tank. These power capacitors have been adopted in many substations in Japan and abroad, gaining top-class market share of power capacitors for general power distributors and dispatchers.
We also manufacture can type capacitor units for overseas markets and have shipped them to many projects, including Japan's ODA projects.
Ion Implanter Using high-voltage technology, we manufacture ion implanters. In particular, we have a 100 percent market share for the ion implanter for small/medium high-definition flat panel displays (FPDs), which is an essential device for the manufacture of liquid crystal displays and organic light-emitting diode displays, which are required to display high-definition images with high performance, such as in smartphones and handheld gaming machines.

Electron beam processing systems use high-voltage technology to improve the properties of materials and add new functionality to them. The Nissin Electric Group has the largest global market share in the medium-level energy domain.

Power system analysis engineering for the use of renewable energy sources as main power sources

Nissin Electric's power system analysis engineering based on our reactive power compensation equipment technology is actively used in providing power quality management for grid interconnection of renewable energy sources. Provision of power quality management is a challenge faced in the utilization of renewable energy. We provide comprehensive support, from finding problems to working out solutions based on grid interconnection.

Research and development of environmentally friendly products

As we face serious social issues such as mitigation of global warming and environmental conservation, the Nissin Electric Group strives for product and business development with reduced environmental burden in order to create a sustainable society in line with the SDGs.

Equipment that uses biodegradable electrical insulating oils We have developed, and are promoting, products that have switched to biodegradable oil in order that the oil required for insulation will not have adverse effects on the environment if it accidentally spills.
Reduced use of SF6 gas SF6 gas has high global warming potential, although it is useful for insulation. We strive to develop and ship products that feature reduced use of SF6 gas. Moreover, we are working on developing products that are totally free of SF6 gas.
Eco-minded products We strengthen our efforts to develop environmentally friendly products by certifying products that meet our own environmentally friendly standards as ecolabel products. In addition, we help reduce environmental burden by promoting widespread use of them.

Technology, research, and development evolving each day

Since it started the manufacture of power system equipment, the Nissin Electric Group has explored technologies in the areas of electricity and energy and now conducts various technical research and development projects, including materials, beam, and plasma technologies.
Research and development at Nissin Electric is basically focused on designing made-to-order components and systems, roughly in two areas: future technical study based on social situations and market needs and efforts pursued with specific applications in mind, such as customer needs and functional improvements.
Nissin Electric and Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. have established the Nissin-Sumiden Energy System R&D Center, merging their research and development departments with the aim of strengthening their Power Transmission/Distribution and Energy Solution Business.
This group synergy between the power technology and system development technology of Nissin Electric and the environmental and energy technology and materials technology of Sumitomo Electric will further strengthen our business.
