Mechanism

Materials irradiated with electron beams (EBs) undergo various chemical reactions, which improve the properties of the material and/or add new functionality. Moreover, compared to traditional processes utilizing heat or light, electron beam processing offers high energy efficiency and substantially reduces electricity cost because electron beams directly work on the molecular structure of the material. The process is used to improve fuel efficiency by means of reducing tire weight and extend food storage periods and reduce food losses by means of improving the performance of food packaging films.

Scan type Electron beam Processing System

Self-shielding type

The X-ray-shielded compact system is suited to crosslinking of electric wires and the manufacture of foamed polyethylene.
(Acceleration voltage: 800 kV or less)

Concrete shielding type

The concrete shielding type is used to cross-link thick electric wires for electric vehicles, manufacture heat-shrink tubes, and pasteurize or sterilize medical devices.
(Acceleration voltage: 5,000 kV or less)

EB-XW

Compared to previous products (Scan type electron beam processing systems), the EB-XW is 30% smaller and offers improved maintainability.
(Acceleration voltage: 800 kV)
